Modular Builder System

What This Is

The Modular Builder is a system of simple paper modules that can be combined to create a wide range of forms.
Each module is built from very simple geometry. On its own, it’s a small piece. But when you start combining them, they turn into larger structures that can feel architectural, mechanical, or even animal-like.
Some builds use just a few modules. Others use many. The same piece can appear more than once, depending on the form.

What You Can Build

The system started with architectural studies, but it quickly expanded beyond that.
You can build:
•    small architectural compositions
•    abstract objects
•    and more playful forms like animals or creatures
Some examples lean toward buildings and spatial structures. Others, like the Zoobots or Fantastic Creatures, push it into more organic directions.

How The System Works

•    print the templates
•    cut the pieces
•    fold along the guides
•    assemble the modules
•    combine them into larger forms

Each module is designed to connect with others. Once you understand how one works, you can reuse that knowledge across many builds.

The Different Sets

The Modular Builder system is organized into several sets.

Starter Set

This is the main entry point. It includes a wide range of modules that can be combined in many ways, from simple studies to more complex compositions.

Creator Sets

These expand the system with additional modules, including larger and more complex ones. They work as standalone pieces but can also be combined, all within the same system.

Fantastic Creatures

This set focuses on more organic forms. The modules are slightly adjusted to better support symmetry and creature-like structures.

All sets belong to the same system and can be combined together.

Who This Is For

This system is used in different ways depending on who you are.
•    for kids and families, it’s a hands-on way to build and experiment
•    for educators, it works well in workshops and classroom settings
•    for architecture, design, and art enthusiasts!
You can follow instructions, or you can go off-script and build your own variations.

Go Further
